Two routes to a diamond

CVD grows diamond from carbon-bearing gas in a controlled chamber. HPHT uses high pressure and high temperature. Both methods can produce laboratory-grown diamonds.

The growth method alone does not establish the quality of a finished stone. Compare the individual diamond and its report. Growth method and post-growth treatment are separate questions.
